DP is currenting doing a website for a group he belongs to. He would like a map on the site to show the location of their premises. Is there anywhere he can copy a map from which won't breach copyright?
Many thanks,

Ordnance survey Get a map
Search on the postcode then click Print/save/copy then right click and save the image.
On the website you need to copy and paste the guff in the terms and conditions and Bob's your mother's brother!

either that or if you have a copy of Auto route you could copy from there0

or put in a link to Google Maps e.g. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=london0

Google maps is the best way0

You can actually integrate a Google Maps map into the website using a piece of Javascript scripting code. You have to register for an "API" key first which only works with the domain name of the website (and any sub folders)
Have a look at http://www.google.com/apis/maps to register for a code and read the documentation. If you're confused though and can't get it to work (it took me hours!
) then just put a link to a map on the Google Maps website http://maps.google.co.uk/
Hope this helps

Only problem is you have to actually locate the place you want and when you live where I live that's virtually impossible! I would like to be able to enter an address and have it located automatically on the map.sra wrote:
The service is great for major landmarks and places though!

Hi Chell
You're definately best going with Google Maps, and you can link to it by using the postcode.
For instance the following link goes to a map showing my office at the postcode IV11 8UY
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=IV11+8UY
You can easily adapt it by editing the postcode, but even better, you can then get directions to it by entering the postcode of the place you're leaving from. Give it a try.

PS If you have problems editing the link I, I'll point your friends in the right direction when they turn up at my office!!!0
