I had a Maxi Cosi XP in my w reg Fiesta was fitted by Halfords. Seems to be a good fit in Fords, fitted perfectly in an Escort and a Ka too.0

Really wouldn't worry about the Which report. It is not an unbiased report as firms sponser the testing. They often have basic errors. I'd go and see which seats fit your car. I you can see if your local council do free fitting. I live in Essex and they do it. They don't sell the seats so there is no incentive to promote a particular seat. The most important thing is that the seat fits well.0

hi everyone not sure if im posting in the right place but here goes!
i have two daughters nearly 4 and nearly 8 both on slim booster seats and a 7 month old son who is now tall enough and heavy enough to go in a forward facing car seat, he cant go in the front as i would have to pay to have the airbag disabled, does anybody know how i find out which forward facing car seat has the narrowest base so that i can do all three car seats up!
we have an 02 ford focus, i have been looking at the maxi cosi tobi which looks promising! any advice would be great as all the car seat checkers on manufacturers websites dont seem to recognise my car! , many thanks zoe0 -
To be honest i think your best bet would be to get down to Halfords and get them to try different seats in your car to see which one fits best. If you didnt want to but it from there then just say you would like to go away and think about it first, then you can order one online0

Have to say i'd agree.
Get to mothercare or halfords - try out some seats and i guess you'll have to make sure the seat is allowed to go in the middle (if that is what you intend).
I'm sure mine says it can't go in the middle seat.0 -
Could your 8 year old not just use the adult belt in the back?There are three exceptions where there is not a child seat available. In each case the child MUST use the adult belt instead. They are -
1) in a licensed taxi or private hire vehicle;
2) if the child is travelling on a short distance for reason of unexpected necessity;
3) if there are two occupied child restraints in the rear which prevent the fitment of a third.
In addition, a child 3 and over may travel unrestrained in the rear seat of a vehicle if seat belts are not available.

If you are near Milton Keynes or in Essex, there are in car safetey centres which stock lots of different car seats and give very good advice, the one in Essex is in Rayleigh and doesn't sell seats, just fits them and gives advice, the one in Milton Keynes sells them too but gives VERY good advice.0

Zoena - Hi I hope I can help a little, I work for Mothercare and the narrowest seat we sell thats forward facing is the Britax Prince (used to be called another name that totally escapes me at the mo sorry!). Its suitable from 20lb till 40lb and will fit with just a lap belt as well as a regualr lap and diagonal so should be good for fitting in the middle. I agree with the other posters tho pop along to your local specialist fitter and get them to try it firstBaby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2
