Advice on cancelling a Thomson holiday...

I hope there's someone here 'in the know' that can maybe let me know what the options actually are with Thomson...

We used to go on package holidays all the time, but over the past few years we've been travelling independently everywhere.

This year, however we fancied some more relaxed holidays so opted to go to Tunisia and later in the year to the Dominican, both regular packages with Thomson.

Thing is, we've just got back from Tunisia and really didn't enjoy it (The package holiday experience, that is). After this, we really can't face the thought of a 2 week all inclusive.

Fortunately, we've only paid £400 deposit on the Dominican holiday, and am 'fairly' (through gritted teeth!) happy just to write it off, however when I phone up to cancel I was wondering if I'd have any other options to use the money on some other Thomson products, flights or hotels etc..

The question is, does Thomson's system allow the movement of deposit funds for other products, or have I really lost it all?

Any help from anyone with knowledge of Thomson's systems/booking procedures would be gratefully received!!

You can change to a different holiday but not sure about different products

Thomsons offer a 'tailor-made' department for long haul destinations, perhaps you could change to something like this as it may suit you much better

So long as you are outside their specified dates for amending the holiday,you would be able to amend to as far forward as October 2010 for an admin charge
