Neighbour's cat crept in, crapped, crept out.

One of my neighbours has a young cat. It was a kitten a few months ago.
I was woken up by it climbing on my window ledge this morning.
Well, after my shower, I walked back into my bedroom and thought "I'm sure I don't smell that bad". Then I noticed something on the floor near the bed and closer inspection showed that it was a neatly coiled cat poo.
It was quite solid, so I managed to pick it up with some toilet paper. I then cleaned the carpet.
I was just coming to terms with all of this when I found that it had left another one on the other side of the bed.
Now, it's a cat and I don't blame it. I'll just keep the windows a bit more closed in future.
What made the cheeky !!!!!! do this though? Is he marking out his cat territory?

Tom, what have you been doing on your carpet for a cat to think it is a loo?

<runs>
No idea why a cat would do this, is there a shortage of available garden in your area?My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead
