Your Insurance often depend on your car configuration. I was wondering what kind of car would give you the cheapest insurance quote? New one? Small Engine? 3 vs 5 doors? Certain brands etc

Car grouping can vary from insurer to insurer, and the vehicle is only one of a number of differnet factors which affect the price you pay.

OP - why on earth are you asking this question?

I am trying to find out how, as a new driver, I can cut my driving costs... It looks as if this is a mini mortgage on its own ;-s

But buying an old cheap car to insure, because it's cheap to insure, may be a false economy.

Stick your details into the internet and keep changing the make and model of vehicles. I think most sites allow you to save and amend quotes.

Choosing a car solely on the basis of how much it costs to insure sounds a bit daft.
