Forgot to mention if the tuition is for a child I would also insist on them being police checked :) CRB check is about £45 but peace of mind is priceless.

Strange just after this topic was stated my son has started free guitar lessons in school aswell, Mick I'd say it's something that would be worth looking into as there are a lot of parents on about continuing after the free tuition ends as the children seem to really enjoy it.
One day I might be more organised...........

Bit late for the OP, but I'd definately consider second hand. The guitar shop I used to work in would often get trade ins as people moved on from their first guitar to something a bit more expensive.

I'm in York and my son is in Year 6. He's in a group of 4 and the lessons are half an hour for the group. It costs £44 per term or £22 if you're on tax credit, maybe less on income support. I bought his guitar through school, so no VAT .
No reliance should be placed on the above.
  • There is a cheaper option: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tw3JfzgFXrA
  • That's not you on the video? :p I would stick to the dearer option :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
