Going to Hammamet in may and was wondering if anyone had any travel tips etc Would anyone suggest taking certain things with us like teabags etc - we are going self catering but were wondering what the food etc will be like - we arent too worried about the food cos we like trying new things anyway lol but would like to know if its easy enough to get the essentials if we need too

Just don't eat any of the 'street' food, as we did and ended up with a severe case of the Tunisian tum/trots!0

Oh yeah, the first time we went i had a pizza slice in Sousse and i was ill for the next week.
I am always very careful now,but i would say take a big box of Immodium just in case.It definetly didnt put me off Tunisia though.
I know there is a supermarket in Hammamet opposite the fountain, near the Medina that sold all the essentials and a bakers just up from it.
If you like chocolate take your own as its really expensive.Last time we went i forgot to take some and it cost me about £1 for a twix.(2 bad habits chocolate and ciggies)
Also dont buy ciggies from anyone on the streets/beaches etc as they are fake and taste vile.If you are going to buy some get them from a proper Tabac shop.
Currency-The Dinar is a closed currency which means it can be only bought in Tunisia and cant be brought out of Tunisia."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0 -

It was the candied [STRIKE]flies[/STRIKE] nuts that did me in! And if you go in the Medina and show any interest in anything and you are a laydee....just watch where the sellers put their hands!!!!!!
Otherwise Tunisia is great!!0 -
