Hi, I was wondering, if i buy the correct amount of stamps can I just stick them on the package along with the recorded delivery sticker and just post it without visiting the post office or do they have to stamp the back of reciept?
I got a bunch of red 1st class stamps, and I noticed that 1st class stamp are now gold, is there a difference?
I ask this because the packages I send are usually, including recorded delivery, comes to exactly £1, so I want to stick 3x 1st with a 4p stamp to make the £1.
Am I making sense?

Recorded delivery has to go via a post office as you need the receipt part of the orange slip retained.

they stil need to go via the Post Office...... but you could speed things up and have all the orange signed for slips written out, paper clipped to the already stamped items. (3 x 1st class plus 4p ).
Red 1st class stamps are still first class stamps. ;-)0 -

When you go to the post office you could always see if they will accept the stamps as payment? But you do have to go via the post office for recorded delivery - then you can track it and have proof you sent it with the post office stamp on the back.Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
You must go to the PO to get your receipt stamped but there's no problem sticking the stamps on yourself as i do this everytime....What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!0
