NHS Civil Penalty Notice

Yesterday I parked in an NHS Hospital car park on a yellow marked area for approx. 2 mins while I dropped off a parcel to an NHS employee. I just could not find a legitimate space and this parcel was urgent. I unfortunately received a £40 Civil Penalty Notice (reduced to £20 if paid within 7 days). Can they enforce this or should I just ignore the notice and not initiate contact?

Who is the notice from. If from a private parking company (ie no hint of council / railway by-laws) then ignore.0

Hi, thank you for replying. It was issued by NHS Grampian, to be paid to the Parking Office at the Royal Infirmary. No outside Private firm, just their own office. Apparently the car park attendants are employed by NHS Grampian direct.
Best regards

Was this at Foresterhill? If so, it used to be the excerable Vinci Park who had the contract there.
If it were still them, I'd suggest you ignore it (not least because they actually levied charges on parts of the site they didn't even have a contract for) but TBH, I don't know who handles it since the charges were abolished at the end of last year. Will try to find out tomorrow.
Mind you, there is not a lot they can do about a CPN if you don't confirm your identity to them and the chances of a court upholding £40 (or even £20) as a reasonable "penalty" are very slim indeed.0 -
Many thanks, it was Forresterhill. I appreciate you taking the time to find out for me.
