Insurance claim: Please advice

All,
Someone damaged my car in an attempted theft.
I spoke to insurance they said yes you can put a claim and you can withdraw claim whenever you want. I asked him that there will be no impact if I withdraw my claim? and he said NO.

Now they are writing off my cay and handing me over £250 (after deducting my excess).

I thought I will replace my car and will sell to the garage (£270) from where I am buying my replacement car.
When I called up insurance today to withdraw my claim they said as they are paying for garage for towing there will be a claim on my insurance anyway.
i asked how much and they said thry will come to know only by next month.
I am in a soup to what to do next

• Claim the insurance and let it mark as a claim
• Withdraw the claim and pay the garage bill to insurance company (probably £100)
• Withdraw the claim but don't pay the insurance and bite the bullett to see how my premium is affected.

Please note that I have 7 years no claim protected.

Please advice ASAP. As I have to collect my replacement car tomorrow morning.

Go with the claim.

When it comes to renewal consider the value of having fully comp on cars that are only worth 500 quid!
