London placement student travelcard help!!?

Options
Hi,

I'm to start a placement in central London in September and am currently assessing the options as to where to live. I am siding on trying to rent a flat somewhere on the very outer or suburbs of London in the vicinity of the tube and am now looking at tube annual travel cards as it seems it will save me a lot of money this way.

Can anyone explain the best way to go here as when I have looked there are both student annual travel cards or there are Oyster 18+ Student travelcards? Is there a difference in price or function?

Any help is appreciated!!

Thanks

Where exactly will you be working as this may give us an idea n advising you where to live, also it depends on your earnings as renting a flat will not be cheap, maybe a room in a house will be in budget £85 to £125 pw

No - it's all the same thing. The 18+ is the newer name for their student discount and gets you 1/3 off of 7 day plus travel cards.

Yep it is. You can apply for them online from September 1st. What university are you with, because if it is not registered with the oyster card scheme because it is not in London/greater London then you will need to see this link here
