I am losing patience right now to the point of being ready to depart with cash for what I want.
I have my own website.
I have tried loads of File Transfer Programs including Filezilla, Blade and AceFTP all of which are freeware.
I am scared of shareware cos of the muck they leave behind.
Ace was great until my pc corrupted.
Now it just remembers all my pc settings and goes mighty slow when connecting to my remote server.
I regularly update my website and right now I have messed it up to the point of my graphics not showing properly.
I do back it up mind you to removable storage :A
Anybody know of any good file transfer programs and the websites that accept payments by methods other than plastic credit ways?
I am heavily dependent on file and folder transfer and my website is not listed in my profile.

If I fail to thank you individually, I am sorry. Your advice was appreciated but may not have been 100% the result I was after.

I use Leech FTP to upload my website, it's been reliable for me over the past year - and it's free."...IT'S FRUITY!"0

Leech keeps disconnecting on me.
I was using it just before posting.
It's also very slow on the remote side.
I don't think there is a piece of freeware I haven't tried.
Downlods.com is my favoutite site.
Softpedia.com was what I used yesterday.

If you have windows Xp then IE has a OK FTP program built-in
Just use ftp://username : password@host.yourdomain.co.uk
(omit the spaces around the colon)
Then you can just navigate subdirectories and drag-n-drop your files into the window.0 -
Lorian,
How do I use it to upload my files and folders?
How do I get to see my remote files?
I am using Maxthon right now.
Maxthon and IE share similarities.
Think I will have to use IE pure and proper later.
Have to dash off now

Just create the shotcut on your desktop - Obviously substitute your site's username, password, host and domain name.
Then double click the shortcut. It'll open a window that acts just like a folder on your local pc, except it's on the server. Then you can just click on the subdirectory you want and drag files into the window from your PC. It looks and feels just like copying files locally.0 -

Google Filezilla. Free and very reliable. The best ftp client I've ever found is FlashFXP, but Filezilla is definitely up there with the rest. Very easy to use and stable."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0
