Halifax/NSPCC Credit Card Low Limits

I have been a Halifax customer for about 25 years and am always getting hassled to get one of their cards. I finally applied for one for 12 month int free (2% bt fee)as my Capital One Interest Free Period has just expired. My current credit card limits are £11,500 for Capital One (£2,000 spend on it) and £7,000 for Barclaycard (nil spend on it).
Halifax gave me a credit limit of £1900 but will only take 90% of my transfer and NSPCC game me a limit of £1800. I wanted to transfer the whole lot to one card to save messing about- don't understand why my limits are so low - Have never had a limit that low on any card and I'm always changing. Also I thought I was applying for the NSPCC card with no BT fee but seems its 2%.
Can anyone advise why limits are so low ( I did call they will only review it after 3 months) and why only 90% of BT. Thinking about binning both of them and trying for another one

HBoS run both the Halifax card and the NSPCC card.
They have looked at your CRA report and seen that you already have £18.5K of credit available to you on your existing cards.
You may also have loans and a mortgage that you haven't told us about, which they will have taken into consideration.
So, it's simply that HBoS feel that you have enough available credit ('potential' debt) and they're not happy to extend you further credit.
I suggest you close down unused cards and reduce your limits before applying for any more cards/increases to your existing limits.0
