About March/April i signed up to fitness first. When i ssigned up i was under the impression that it was for one month and i could cancel whenever i wanted. The next month i phoned up and said that i wouldnt be able to come for the next month as i would be busy, they said that was fine and they would "freeze" my membership.
That month they still took the money out of my account. So straight after i cancelled my membership (i sent a letter, but they said they didnt get it later on)
They charged me for the 3rd month, by then i had cancelled the direct debit. I said im not paying it as ive been twice and dont feel that i have been treated fairly. They then said that the minimum contract was 3 months..
So about a week ago i sent them a letter saying that i would pay the £35 for the last month ...the next thing i get a letter in the post demanding £60 including admin fees!
All in all i would have paid £130 for two hours at the gym..
Does anyone have any advice on what i should/could do now?
Thanks x

As far as aware Fitness First dont do 1 month min contracts its either 3 months or 12 months dependant on package.
When you joined you will have signed a contract and should have received a copy, check what you signed up for, by the sounds of it was for the 3 month package.0 -
If you sign a contract,,expect to be bound by the terms unless unfair.
Only send letters recorded delivery.0 -
I checked the contract and its 3 months..but when i signed up they made it out to be 1 month min. I know i should have checked but its annoying that the lied about it when i signed up..0
