Problem downloading printer driver in East Africa

I'm visiting friends in Tanzania who have an Epson Stylus DX3850 without the driver. I brought a disc over which someone had put together for them, but it does not appear to be working - maybe because they have Vista and the downloads are for older Windows versions. I have tried to download from the Epson website but it either times out or resets itself at around 17-20%. Can anyone help suggest how to get around this problem? I wondered if there would be more chance of it working if it was sent on an email attachment by my friend in England?

Thanks all, I still had problems, so got a friend to send them as email attachments, though they couldn't do it without changing the file extension to .doc I then changed it back to .exe once I had saved them.

Problem solved, thanks again for your advice.

Be careful to not get sunburnt like I did last year in Dar E Salaam. And I live in Kenya!
