tesco locator onto sat nav ?

Ive gone into the Tesco store locator and downloaded that onto my PC.
www.tesco.com/storelocator/satnav-download/

Connected Tom Tom Go 530 Traffic to computer and down loaded file to Sat Nav.
That seem to be fine. ( Done this a few times just to make sure !)
Checked Tom Tom manual and gone into Tom Tom home but cant find any more instructions.
Tescos store locator must be somewhere on the sat nav but were ?
How do i get it to work once its down loaded ?

Im sure this is something easy or thats what im hoping !
Can someone help out on this one please ?

I just took a look at the download (btw the link didn't directly for me - I had to go to http://www.tesco.com/storelocator/ and navigate from there) and it is an OV2 format. You should copy the ov2 and bmp into the map directory (usually called by country name) then it will show up as a POI which you can use like the others (navigate to, show nearest, sound alarm when passing, etc. etc.)
  • I copied the web address from the site as i was on the download screen sorry it didnt go through.
Checked poi on TOm Tom but not showing one for Ts only pictures of petrol station, airport etc.

    Whats OV2 ?
When I press to download the computer sends this directly to the win rar and saves file.
This time ive saved directly my computer then k drive which is were ive plugged the Tom Tom into.
Checked whats on the K drive shows all folders and tomtom.zip
    type of file winrarzip archive
icon is like a stack of books.
There is a uk folder should i try and put the tomtom.zip file into that ?
is the proble becaus ita a zip file?
Sorry to be a pain but cant get this to work

tahnks for your help so far

you have to unzip the tomtom.zip folder, inside you will find 3 files
Tesco.bmp, Tesco.Ov2, Readme.txt. The Readme.txt contains the instructions to install the POI.
  • Thanks regeneration ,
got so far and found the 3 files.
read instructions and thought this is going to work .No !
    Got to my computer,
"navigate to Great Britain Map directory" ( no instructions as to how to do this or were it is located any clues ?)

could not find this - did a search nothing found.
Is this on the dirive that the Tom Tom is connected to ?
I can only see one folder in that were there is a resemblance to what i am looking for
" united kingdom and republic of ireland"
when i opened this it contains load of sub headings the first one reads
    Autovelox-IT-Tom Tom
is this what i download the 2 files into ?
Not sure if im looking in the right place for thie directory mentioned or if a directory is the same as a folder ??

I know soound muddled but ive got so far and i am sure with some help i just need to do this last bit:beer:

Why on earth would anyone need to know where Tesco is???...so that you can avoid them?..
  • Inactive - you have not found out about the joys of couponing :D
Using loads of coupons that r going around you can get all you shopping for free :j my PDFs at the moment add up to about £12 and then with the others I get about £16 to £20 off a shop.
So every time u go into Ts just 'buy' up to that amount for anything you want give in your coupons for anything (does not matter what they r for ) then they say " 10p please " and you skip out of the shop :jready to go to the next one and do it again !
As i travel to different places i can always nip into an unsupecting Ts with a fistful of coupons.

( if this ever stops its back to Aldi and Home & Bargain for me)

Yes a folder is a directory.

As I said in my first post the folder/directory you need to put the two files into is usually the country name - in your case it seems you have the "united kingdom and republic of ireland" maps on your TomTom.

Just copy the .ov2 and .bmp from whereveryou have them on your computer into that "united kingdom and republic of ireland" folder/directory and then you should see the Tesco stores as POIs.
