The Compers Inn - Part 22

Not sure what to say tonight - just popped in for a friendly face or two.

Had an awful day - my DHs cousin is in Intensive Care in the Neuro Wing of QE Hospital, Birmingham. He was airlifted there last night after being attacked by a yob with a plank of wood.

Short version - he went to get his grandson's bike back off two kids that had nicked it - the kids were cheeky and refusing to hand bike back - he went to the mother who was very abusive so he and his wife said they were going to call the Police - went to his car, turned his back to get his phone and the eldest son of the family (22) hit him across the head with the wood and as he fell, he hit him again as hard in the same place.

He has lost the ability to speak and very little movement and they are anticipating having to operate when he stabilises.

So shocked and upset by this - all over a child bike.

Actually, not sure why I have posted this here - don't want to bring the mood down guys

diddlepops - just about to log off, but didn't want to run...my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family..don't worry about posting..everyone here shares good and bad times. I hope your DH's cousin is OK. I can't believe how some people can behave, and hope they catch the heartless people that can do such things..hugs and best wishes x

Hope he's ok diddlepops!

SOD - I use tesco delivery most of the time as it's just easier! And if you use the vouchers that are on here it often works out cheaper even with the delivery charge

On a more serious note ... Diddlepops I really hope your OH's cousin is ok, this world and it's residents are truly awful sometimes, there's really no explanation for it. My thoughts are with you and yours xxx

Oh diddlepops, hugs to you and your hubby and family.
That's absolutely awful. Cheeky gits, and that's the mild thing I could think of saying.
Hope your cousin gets well soon, but some stressful times for your family.
And don't worry about posting in here, I for one think we are all here to support each other in good times and bad.

My sentiments exactly. Going to bed very soon as I've got a lot to do tomorrow plus sleep to catch up on. Nighty night!! xxx
