Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for thursday 9th July! This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!

    Morning everyone.
Had a terrible nights sleep. DS woke at midnight saying he needed the loo, H's alarm went off by accident at 3.30am and my darling DD has been awake since 5am. I was tired when I went to bed (have felt drained all week). I now feel even worse. I most definately have my grumpy trousers on this morning........
Got some more housework to finish and a couple more appointments today. Given how I feel thats more than I can cope with at the mo.
We're putting up the gazebo tonight so think it needs to be something quick and easy for tea. What that will be I have no idea......can't think straight at the moment.
Sorry very little OS going on today.
Have a good day everyone OS or not.

Good morning Sistercas & Bitsy Beans & all who follow.

Woke early here again so have been unloading the DW & generally tidying the kitchen. It's DS3 Sports Day this morning, the last one he'll be doing, it'll feel strange having gone to these things since 1995  Other plans are to do the FlyLady list, ironing & help DD colour her hair.

Lunch will be the remains of the spicy lentil soup & tea is sausage pie (I think) I'll go and find the menu planner in a moment & check.

Edited to add: DS2 has his interview for Head Boy this afternoon so I'm keeping everything crossed for him :T

Hugs & love being sent where needed xx

Morning Sistercas, Bitsy & all to follow.

Bitsy - I know how you feel - I do seem to be sleeping at the moment but it cant be good quality as I am waking up shattered!

Have lots to do today & all I want to do is lay down on the settee. Have inlaws coming over to give DD her birthday pressies. Am cooking lasagne & a chicken leg for mil as she is very fussy. Will be serving it with j pot and salad. The whole house is filled with dread at their visit - very sad.

So I need to pop out for some bits, clean house (harvest bugs need hoovering from every room - means I have to hoover each room top - bottom) make lasagne. I also have some office work to get done and sort DD's pressies for tomorrow.

At least the sun is shining today so hopefully will be able to get some washing dry.

Think will be on the coffee all day to keep me going.

    Have a great day.

Another one who had a poor night's sleep. Was woken at 2am by a plane that seemed to spend twenty minutes at least just circling the area . My early morning call this morning was a sparrow that came in through the window and was flapping madly to get out.
So, bread made (was on timer), DW emptied and am now enjoying a peaceful cup of coffee.
OS plans - not sure today. There is some leftover chilli and salad for DD2 who is at work this morning. OH & I are hoping to go out for the day as we haven't done much holiday stuff this week.

Have a good day everyone, (((hugs to those))) in need.

    Morning all,

Bright here, looks like it will be nice again, off to work today, Lasagne for tea tonight, which i had made last week and frozen, so nice and easy, will have it with salad, from the garden :T, and chips.

Aussie OH has been taking the B + B pickle every day to work, apparantly I am the talk of the building site !!! (not for the first time :D) everyone loves them, I will have to make a few batches up to last the winter.

Did a wash last night, which I will hang out now, another small one to do tonight. Sainsbugs are delivering tonight.

And we are still on the hunt for a holiday for August, think we may have found one, just waiting to hear back.

I Picked 5 tomatoes last night :T, and have more ripening, the cues seem to have slowed down  perhaps I need to feed them a bit more.

Hope Smokey is ok, its been such a long time since we heard from her, big hugs if you are reading xx

    Have good days all xx

Morning all, I just had to pop on and tell you all that I am pregnant! At the age of 44 it was the last thing I expected and I did have a few wobbly moments but I'm starting to get quite excited now. Everybody is being so kind and supportive and it doesn't look like I will need to buy much for this baby as I'm being offered things right left and centre!

Plus I had an interview for a job two weeks ago, they called me back for a second interview, I explained the situation saying I would understand completely if they no longer wanted to consider me but they asked me to come in anyway. I did really well at the second interview and will hear by the beginning of next week whether they want me or not.

    Good morning everyone.

We did have blue sky and sun when I first woke up but it's been replaced by cloud - not sure if it will brighten up again later. Shan't put the washing out just yet. BM is on and the rest of the housework has been done. Having only half a house to look after - while I wait for the other half to be finished - has it's upside, because there's not so much housework to do!

HM beefburgers for dinner, with chips and yet more salad. Pudding hasn't been decided yet.

I've been informed that we are buying a satellite dish this weekend. Having had no TV since March, I'm quite looking forward to it! It will at least make us sit down in the evenings, instead of pottering about until bedtime. We had a decoder for cable TV as part of our deal with France Telecom; we were getting round to fixing it up, when our neighbour told us that there is no cable TV in our area! Anyway, I have asked for a reduction in the monthly charge. You may remember all the hassle I had getting them to connect me to the internet - it took eight weeks altogether. Part of the deal was free unlimited national and international calls but that didn't start until we'd been fully connected. Despite trying to keep our calls back to the UK to a minimum, we still had a huge phone bill. Anyway, I disputed it saying that it wasn't our fault they took so long to connect us, and they are crediting me back all the call charges - without argument, either. So, so far I am having two months free internet, and a credit for my next bill. I wonder if I can work the same magic for the other services?!

    Anyway, I have mioliered enough.

I hope everyone has a good day.
