How do i connect Canon Pixma IP5200 direct to wireless modem?

I have a PC, wireless network and a laptop (soon to be two laptops). I have a Canon Pixma IP5200 connected via USB from the PC. When I print from the laptop, the signal goes via the wireless modem/router to the PC and then via USB cable to the printer, but this means the PC has to be switched on all the time. Is there any way I can bypass the PC and connect the printer direct to the wireless router and if so what do I need/can you recommend a product?
