I have several DVD's of live concert performances.
Is it possible to copy the audio only so I can listen to it on a cd/mp3?
Many thanks.

DVD Audio RipperYou'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -
I asked this same question few days ago and some great techies gave me these two sites to look at:
http://www.glump.net/content/audio_dvd_rip/guide.htm
http://www.dvd-mp3.org/
Hope this helps. :beer:Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -
i've been wanting to do this on a simply red concert ... tried all the above and haven't managed with any of them
i'm not very techie ..0 -
Thanks guys, the software at http://www.castudio.org/dvdaudioextractor/ worked great - it took about 4 hours though! Was able to select/deselect chapters (tracks) easily - my personal favourite.
DVD Audio Ripper worked, but with the trial version you were only able to rip the first 5 minutes, so uninstalled that.

both look ok, although glump needs you to install several programs, dvdaudioextractor was an all in one package only limited by the trial.
MP3 Ripper looks good - can you select/deselct chapters? Any idea how fast it is?
pennymakespounds, try again using auto settings, no reason why shouldn't work.0 -
chuffy ... where do i find "auto settings" ??0

seem to get to "step 4 of 4" .. "start encoding and watch the process" ....
where it appears to be copying it .. took 50 mins .
No idea what to do now ... it doesn't tell you anything .
just the "4 of 4 " screen....with "help.... restart...back..or exit... buttons... cannot click the "next" button.
what now ?0 -
Green start button, almost smack bang in centre.0

what now ?
I had no choice earlier but to "close" .. just gone back on now to look for the "green button" and it just takes me back to the screen with "step 1 of 4" .... the select chapters dropdown with 3 choices but no data /detail... but it did spend 50 minutes downloading it earlier.
This is exactly where i got to yesterday trying it.
Not exactly user friendly ?! I'm beat. !0 -
if the "green button" is the "start" button .. that's what i used earlier to start the encoding.
i have just put the dvd back in but it goes to the step 1 screen showing all the tracks .. ready to start the whole procedure again0
