my name card on husband's income?

Is it possible to get a credit card in my name if I have no income? I am so mad with Barclaycard who for the nth time have blocked my card after lots of piddling spending (NOT FRAUD!), my husband is abroad and they won't speak to me about it.

Several providers ask for household income...many as well as sole income, but at least one (M&S in-store application form) used to ask for it instead of sole income.

I wonder if M&S still do this?

You'll still have to give them your (truthful) occupation though, which may impact on their decision.

Your bank would be able to tell you whether you are eligible for a card in your own right - even if it was Barclays!

try Capital One - they give cards to people with no income (trust me on this one)

How about one from your bank? Surely you must be able to go to the branch and speak to them about this.. Do you have a joint account? If you both go there surely they will give you card in your name (I have one from my husband) and to give you authority to deal with everything that is happening on your card.

the problem is that the account is JUST in my husband's name - even though the bank account is in joint names, I am the second card holder and unless there is WRITTEN divulgence Barclaycard won't speak to me. We have done this once and everything was OK, but this time they seem to have no record - I have just spoken to my husband in Singapore and he is incandescent (MAD!!) and will phone them, but it's their fault and I can't do anything about it!

Sod Barclaycard, go to your bank. If it's in joint names you can apply for one yourself going fomr your joint financial profile.
