Buying a new BMW 3-series
I'm looking to buy a new BMW 3-series coupe automatic, and was wondering what the best way to get the best deal was.
I've seen the brokers on the sticky thread, but are they reliable? Is there any difference between buying from a broker and buying from a dealer?
The thing is the 3-series coupe is being replaced in November, and I'd rather have the old model because the new one is likely to have the ugly back that the new 3-series saloon has. This means I should be able to get a decent discount. For example, the dealer offered a 7% discount immediately, which I've never seen before.
So what is the best way to go about this? Take prices from the brokers to the dealers? Go around various dealers asking for quotes?
Thanks

A large number of brokers will just put you in touch with a main dealer who will give you the best discount, the broker will get a back end commision payment from the dealer. You have all the safety of buying through a dealer as your deposit will be given to the dealer not the broker.
Find out what a broker will get you off the vehicle then ask a few local dealers if they will match the price, if they will then great if not order it through the broker. The downside is the brokers dealer may be a fair distance away but usually the extra savings are more than worth a couple of hours on a train to pick it up.0 -
The BMW coupes always look nicer than the saloon and they will probably do something to make the back look better too. I'd see if you can find any preview pics somewhere before making your decision. Last thing you want to do is buy the current coupe and regret it if the next one looks awsome!!If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0

Personally I'd wait for the new one to 'rear it's ugly head' (or the opposite as the case may be). Once it's out, then you can try and pick up a brand new car which is of the 'old shape' - obviously provided you aren't after a factory order with loads of extras, etc.0

Problem is I need a new car by start of July, and pictures of the new model won't be out until at least then.0
