post to europe

Can I use a first class (i.e. 1st not 32p face value) and a second class (i.e. 2nd not 23p face value) stamp together to post a letter to Europe (44p) ?

Thanks

Hmm, i'd like to know this as well. At the moment I just goto the post office and tell them to send it via airmail and pay the cost (i'm going to send it regardless). never enquired too much about it.

  • I can see no reason why not; as long as the value of the stamps on the envelope is at least what it should cost then there should not be a problem. A 1st and a 2nd stamp takes the value of the stamp at the time of postage, so as the combined total is 53p, being 11p more than the actual cost it should be okay.
