hi
I just got as far as the disclaimers section on the ticket booking process for the fairford air tattoo next weekend as was thinking of taking my son.
Here is an extract from the disclamer section that i think makes interesting reading given that it was cancelled in 2008 because of rain.
now to my untrained eye this looks to me that if there was a bit of rain this year the organisers could cancel the event and i would NOT be entitled to a refund... not even the dodgy christmas winter wonderlans organisors managed to get away with this so why is it something like the air tattoo can do it..
I was even more annoyed that they force you to buy tickets in advance... (online only as far as i can tell) then hit you with a £3.00 admin fee.... I know its for a charity but i really think this is a bit naughty.. can anybody with a legal eye clarify if i am interpretting this correctly
The Organisers reserve the right at any time to cancel or postpone RIAT 2009 or to cancel, postpone or vary any event comprising part of RIAT 2009. The Organisers shall not be responsible for any indirect or consequential loss, howsoever arising, including, without limitation, loss of profits or loss of contracts arising from such cancellation, postponement or variation. The Ticket Holder will not be entitled to a refund of any entrance fee paid if for any reason outside the Organisers’ control RIAT 2009 does not take place or is curtailed in any way or postponed or the Ticket Holder is prevented from attending RIAT 2009. Should weather or other circumstances require flying to be curtailed or restricted, aircraft will still be taxied where possible and other showground exhibits and displays will be available

can I suggest you make it clear (use colour/bold) what YOU are saying and what you are quoting.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Do you think they WANT to cancel after all the preperation that has gone into it? As well as all the aircraft ready to go, there is the Royals and VIPs to consider! They will cancel if they have to, but only if they REALLY have to.
Last year they had to cancel, but only because the area turned into a swamp due to the torrential rain. I know because i was there and was in the VIP area with HRH Queenie and Sir Terry Wogan!!!!0 -
I bought my ticket not online and without paying the £3 admin charge
It can be done last year was unfortunate but it really was a mess there and I can fully understand the need to cancel the show I can't see the same happening this year x
Wife to a great husband and mum to 4 fantastic kids 9,8,4,3 they drive me mad but I would do anything and give everything for my family :grinheart

I know why it was cancelled last year, my point isnt so much that i think they will cancel, its the fact that you are not entitled to a refund if they do cancel. they force you to buy in advance online and then dont give you a means to get your moiney back.
wrt VIP's,,, they probably dont have to pay for their tickets.0
