    It is the limit to which you can withdraw cash with your card so say £500 if you limit is £1000. However, do not go down this route ever if possible.

    It'll cost you a bomb. Normally APR is 30% or more on cash advances, and interest accrues from the moment you do it, rather than in 56 days like every other purchase... and it looks bad on your credit file ;)
