Does anyone know how to take cuttings of figs? Also how should I protect the tree in winter - it has produced one fig this year but has lots of new growth and next year could be good if I can protect the new tiny figs.

Again according to R4 GQT, remove all baby or embreyo figs that are left on the tree by winter time, they will never ripen & will just detract from next years fruit

The ones that ripen are the ones that form in Spring, the others are just a hindrance

I've propagated my fig but not from cuttings - I've got a new tree from it's fruit which I'm growing unrestricted in the boarder for it's foliage.

Mine must be the most laid back tree if they are moody - it gets moved, lives in the darkish corner, has tumbleberries underplanting it, gets watered when I remember, never gets protected in Winter, gets talked to death by me but at the moment has a crop of 30+ figs :rotfl:
