can anyone help, i've got motorbike insurance but my bike needs the tax renewing. I want to do this online but I get stuck because the bike is not showing up on the MID site as being insured. I've double checked with the insurer and they told me the insurance is valid and that the dvla are slow to update the MID Site but it has now been over 2 weeks????0

Go to your local Post Office, most of them will tax vehicles.0 -
no it says its not on the database today, but i insured it from the 1st of this month. i'd rather do it online as there is always a big queue at the post office and i cant often get there when its open.0

Then it's not the DVLA's fault.want2bmortgage3 wrote: »no it says its not on the database today, but i insured it from the 1st of this month.
Either your insurance company have not given the correct details of the policy to the MID, or they have and the MID haven't updated the database yet - which is strange, because it's supposed to take only 24 - 48 hours for the MID to update their records after receiving details of the policy.
I would get back on to the insurance company myself, ask them to double check they've done their bit properly.
Once the MID is showing as insured (on that link I gave you), wait 24 hours and try taxing online again.0 -

You simply cannot tax it online if the online system doesn't know about your insurance.Go to your local Post Office, most of them will tax vehicles.
Don't think you will get anywhere complaining to anyone, because there is an alternative process available.0 -
You don't need to get there often. Just getting there once is enough.want2bmortgage3 wrote: »no it says its not on the database today, but i insured it from the 1st of this month. i'd rather do it online as there is always a big queue at the post office and i cant often get there when its open.

Find another Post Office then, I can tax my car at my local Post Office in less than 5 minutes.0
