Best places to see in Cornwall?

I'd also recommend the Minack theatre (including a play if you can, although you can just look round). The Porthcurno telegraph museum is just down the road as well, which we enjoyed - both together makes a full day....

Be prepared to get ripped off every time you want to park...thats if you can find anywhere.
Roddydogs - took the words right out of my mouth.
What annoyed us about Cornwall was the car parks were always just outside where you wanted to visit and they always charged for an all day stay. So you had to pay to park before you knew if it was worth staying. The concept of paying for a couple of hours seems to be lost by operators. With so many visitors you would actually make more money as spaces would be turned over.
Best thing about Cornwall is you can get to the Scilly Isles which are well worth the trip.
As for the rest of it I'll leave it to those who don't mind having their wallets emptied every day by car park operators.0 -
Depends on when you are going but if it is in September after the main holiday season, then a lot of car parks with a man in a hut are free as there is no one to collect your money. Obviously charges still apply in pay & display car parks.0

Thank you
We went yesterday and saw loads. Boscastle was lovely. They have rebuilt it since their floods. The Cobweb Inn is lovely http://www.visitboscastleandtintagel.com/site/eating-out/cobweb-inn-p816613
We didn't stop at the Eden Project as it is expensive for 2 adults.
Lizard was nice and more unspoiled. It has a donation based car park at the top. There were a couple of lovely gem shops (one of my interests). I was disappointed there wasn't an oldy worldy tea shop there but found a lovely farmhouse tea shop, run on a farm from her home - Sue's Cream Teas, on the road from Lizard to Helston.
I do agree, that car parks outside towns should not charge. Land's End charges £3 and we drove straight past. It has shops there, so they should subsidise the parking. John O'Groats is much better.
St Michael's Mount is great.
The coastal drive to St Ives was lovely but slow. The Atlantic views, as the sun set, were amazing. Newquay is more lively.
In a day, we barely scratched the surface and will return to see the rest at a later stage. An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -
The Eden Project is a must! Yes its expensive (but when i went got 241 voucher from gardners world) and when you get in you can use your ticket free next time - so perhaps look on ebay??
It really is amazing! You can spend most the day there. The tropical rainforest is brill, although very hot! tropical temp so wear something 4 that heat!! You go round all the tropical countries and its all themed - very good day out.
Padstow is pretty - and where rick stein has his fish restuarant although very expensive!!
Newquay Zoo makes a fun day out and theres a aquarium near there too.
You def need a car to see things - and cornwall is alot bigger than it looks and very widespread. When we went i planned to do/see so much but the driving is alot! the best to do is not have a base, and just B&B it along the way - theres tons about to stay in!
All very pretty beaches, places take ages to get too, coz u keep stopping in lay by's to look at the views!
Cornish clotted cream icecream is a must!! Its sold everywhere u go!
Tip i had was, when u get there, buy the local papers as they have lots of discounts 241's etc in there for many attractions. Or grab leaflets from garages or caravan parks receptions.
hope this helped?0 -

Take a road atlas and satnav. Any road that ends abruptly on the coast normally has a wonderful harbour/beach/cove.The man without a signature.0
