Tesco 12 months 0% APR credit card

Hello, I'll try to tell my story short. I'm planning on buying a car and have been saving for it for quite a while now. ATM I'm GBP1000 short of what I need to be but decided that I've waited long enough and wanna buy it now. I've read the "CARDS LOANS" part of the moneysavingexpert.com and decided the right choice for me is Tesco credit card which has 0% APR for 12 months. As I know I'm getting a lump sum in January I know I'll be able to pay it off completely before the 12 months finish.
But my question is: what is the best way to take that GBP1000 out of the credit card. I know you get charged a lot for withdrawals. Can I just transfer the money from the credit card to my current account?
I've never had a credit card before so know absolutely nothing about them
Thanks a lot to anybody who'll take their time to answer me

If you are buying from a dealer will they not accept card payment?
If so use the 0% purchase card, hold on to money you already have, keep paying the minimum amount each month and then pay off the entire amount just before the 0% period is up.0 -

See if the dealer will take part payment with card...in these credit crunch times you are in a better position to call the shots0 -
