Anyone live in Hamilton/surrounding areas?

Hi all,
I'm looking to rent a flat in the near future in Hamilton or somewhere pretty near there - but I'm pretty rubbish at looking these things up!
I've looked through Rightmove etc but they seem to be all agencies, and have read some horror stories about agencies on here! Is there such a place where private landlords can advertise their flats?
I'm only looking for a 1-bed so hopefully shouldnt be too hard?

If you mean Hamilton in Lanarkshire, I'm pretty close by (Wishaw), a basic google search on exactly what your looking for should throw up a few more rental agencies. You could also try Hamilton Advertiser, Motherwell Times, Wishaw Press for local newspapers.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

There are plenty of horror stories on here about private landlords, too.
Gumtree has a glasgow section that should cover the surrounding area and should have a checkbox to exclude agents from your search (though some try to disguise themselves). Read the scam warning section - free adverts attract scammers.0 -
