When to buy?

Does anyone know when the right time to buy is?
Both my girlfriend and I are saving like mad to get 20%, we have 10% now and we have seen a house for £224k but we don't know when to take the leap.

We're first time buyers, so no chain and I wonder if we could even knock that price down to around £210k - any ideas?

If it's the home of your dreams then go for it but I am convinced that prices will drop more with increased unemployment & lack of confidence especially in the government.

    No-one knows.
Use tools such as zoopla, upmystreet, etc to try and figure out what it is worth. I would be tempted to offer pretty low to be honest as I can't see prices rising much over the next year or so.

Thats good advice. Just keep waiting, unless something absolutely outstanding turns up for a bargain price!
But beware of mortgage rates creeping up, which is why many people are panic buying now.

Drive a hard bargain for the house you want - if you will live there for 5+ years then don't worry about possible losses too much - it's a home first not an investment.
