Very cheap Microsoft software + other stuff:
Now before anyone says this has been going for years, it's the first i've heard of it! Anyway:
MOD personnel are entitled to 1 copy of Microsoft products (only those listed). I have just purchased Office 2007 Enterprise for £8.95 (RRP £300!!).
https://sabs.sbl.r.mil.uk/ - from a works pc.
register with works email
click Home Use Program
and you should see:
Apparently they used to mail out the cd, but now it is a download (they mail the links to your home email).
If you have a look around the site, there are PC games, XBox games, loads of stuff!!
Fantastic!!

That sounds good But I'm not on DII thankfully yet.:j0

lucky you, it sucks! Well, it is handy for visiting a different Unit or even a different office and been able to log on to your own system, but the file storage is a joke.0

That's where my Office 2007 came from! The link gets put on the Defence Bulletin Board every now and again - it's great value (for those with a DII account).Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0

You have to be on a MOD 'puter - I think that's how the .mil bit of the link works, but I'm no expert.
You create an account through the link, and then have the software sent to home or link sent to your home email, depending on how up-to-date the system is.Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -

Correct!!! Got mine the other day and all installed!0 -
One thing to be wary of with these products is that they are the OEM versions. This means that they only have 3 installs (or is it 5) and then the product cannot be used again. This isn't a problem if your computer system is stable, but if it crashes often, or you wish to put it on several computers, just be careful!John

Doesn't have to be DII - I have accessed it from an RLI IGS account no problem, and as I think Navynet is part of the RLI there shouldnt be a problem, although I wouldnt put money on it !! :cool:0
