i have just logged into my student finance application to see if they have sent out a change of circumstance form.

It shows the following

Assessment Status Assessed
Assessment Date 08/07/2009
Assessment Type Not Based on Household Income

Now, without sounding daft.. does that mean they have assessed my application? only ask as i only completed it just over a week ago and the date is todays date- just seems very quick if they have. my brothers application took ages!

Also, i needed to change the maintenance amounts i get for my son, when i applied it was £0 pcm but the csa wrote to me this week and it is now £104pcm. Will this impact my assessment? i believe it wont but i do need to tell them anyway dont i?

Also, it states not based on household income, but i thought i had applied for some kind of grant as well? Do i need to ring them ?

If you originally applied to be non assessed, thats what is showing. Not sure if they are delayed or what but at the moment the finance means you get the basic loans and nothing else.

You may need to ring them to see if they recieved the forms or not.

Does it say how much your son will be getting?

If so copy the amounts here and I can tell you if they've done it right or not.

it stated £0 as at the time it was £0 but the csa only did a calculation on 1/7/9 to the tune of £24pw. the application still states £0 as they sent me a form to fill in

Sorry I confused myself, I thought the application was for your son not for you.... Such a long day at work.

Does it say how much you have been entitled to for the year yet?

    Ok very weird.

Well I would say you have been assessed, but it seems you are only £3 better off (£3,559 is the non income assessed).

They maybe still working out the grant.

I am assuming you earn less than £60k a year? (and £50k?)

The are assessing everyone for non income assessed first, to clear the backlog. Then they'll assess everyone who requested income based afterwards.

    Hope that helps!
