Two pet insurance policies - can I claim twice?!

Hello everyone. We got a new dog almost four weeks ago, and last night he got run over. Luckily he's not too badly hurt, but there is going to be a hefty vet's bill to pay. The problem is, if you can call it a problem, we actually have two pet insurance policies at present - one which came free with the dog and lasts for six weeks, and one which came free with his microchipping and lasts for four weeks.

Are we allowed to claim for everything twice, as we would if we had two life insurance policies, or is that fraudulent?!

Not that I'm trying to profit from my dog's accident, but I thought I'd check!

It would be fraud I'm afraid.

it would be fraud, and also check when the policies go live, many policies state you cannot claim within the first.... days

Oh well, worth a try! Thanks for your help. Guess we'll be using the one with the lowest excess then!

Your best bet would be to use the cover that came free with the puppy and to then keep this cover going. If you use the micro chip one and then take cover with someone else they will exclude any future claims for anything to do with the accident.

(I assume the cover that came with the puppy was with a decent company such as pet plan)
