Faulty Mobile Phone

I took a 18-month contract with T-Mobile last year, and a few mobths later my phone refused to switch on even after a charge.

T-Mobile replaced the charger, and all seemed to work fine, until now.

Today (14 months into my contract), my mobile once again will not switch on.

Before I contact T-Mobile regarding my faulty mobile, I wish to find out first .....

Am I entitled to a replacement mobile or a repair without any cost to myself ?

As the phone seemed to have a fault after a few months, maybe the fault still exists, and has only noticable once again.

I've borrowed another charger, so hopefully it may just be the charger that is faulty.

    You could have rejected the phone or got an upgrade in the first 6 months if you had sorted the problem sooner.

    As for now, some months later you could probably get a repair though this late into an 18 month contract you could use it as a bargaining chip with the supplier to get a better deal, maybe a handset upgrade? Or you could send them a letter stating the problem you've had with your phone, mention 'Sales of Goods Act 1979 as revised s14 etc and tell them you wish to have the handset repaired.

    If it were I, I would get a cheap replaceable charger then when the time comes, labour the point as to how unreliable the old handset was, how you've missed important calls due to the unreliability, hope you don't have to go through that again otherwise you'll be considering jumping networks to one that values their customers. See if they offer a phone upgrade etc.

    At this point in time, you'll likely send the handset back, they'll rummage around in their big box of returned handsets that will last 6 months or more, maybe. You will get one of those.

    Yep, tried another charger, and phone has charged, and switched on.

    Have e-mailed T Mobile, asking what to do.... maybe they'll exchange the phone.

    More likely, they'll just aske for phone back, and replace, maybe a cost to myself, or terminate the existing contract if I renew.

    I had this problem with Virgin, with replacing faulty mobile.
