How am I supposed to list these ruddy items?!?

I wonder if anyone can help me as I guess its my fault and I don't want to lose any more money!

I've put a listing on ebay for some items that I have several of. The first time I listed 5 of the items as lots and when someone bought 4, one amount of p&p was added to the invoice.

OK I thought my fault , listing them as lots, so I listed the next listing as there being 5 item to purchase. However the same has happened again....only this time the 5 times have been purchased by the same person so only 1 p&p applies.

Now whilst I appreciate that its not going to cost me 5x as much to post the items to him, I'm guessing that the p&p charged won't cover the p&p its going to cost me to actually send them so I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet on this one but I really don't want to lose any more money when I come to list the last few items I have.

So what am I doing wrong? The only thing I can possible think of is that I should put a figure in the additional item box where it lists the p&p charge.

Any help would be appreciated.

yes you should then p+p will be charged for every item

Best way around it (having sold many items on ebay) is having a posting amount in your description for example

Postage
1 = £ x
2 = £x etc..

or list as one item offering lots but use the multiple postage option first item is X plus x for additional items... does this make sense :rolleyes:

when they purchase item email them an invoice or state no postage ie sellers standard rate and list the rates in your description, then they have to contact you for an invoice to pay the correct postage. :T

You don't even have to do all that, when listing multiple items as long as you complete the box that asks for the additional postage cost for additional items it all works out correctly on the invoice.

I have one id that sells mainly Dutch Bins and have the auction template set up to automatically discount when more than 1 item is bought at the same time. I've even set it up so that the Europe rates and the worldwide rates are also shown and so when my items are Bin'd the invoice that they get from ebay accurately reflects the total postage cost for the amount they have bought, taking into account their country of origin. I don't have to do anything at all, and that's just how I like it.
