quick question re contents insurance

Lisyloo to an Insurance company an alarm that is not serviced regularly by a suitable alarm company is worth absolutely nothing.

I personally would probably not have mentioned the alarm to them as then they would not have requested you get it serviced unless they specify they want you to have an alarm which they generally don't do unless you have a large amount of contents unless there are other factors that might influence them

I understand the issue from their point of view.
It's just frustrating if your a very competant DIYer.

I did not mention an alarm to them.
They said they had some declarations flagged up on their system and had to talk to an underwriter so I am assuming it was my contents amount or valuables amount that triggered it.
