looking for some advice and help

We have had our offer accepted on our 'dream house' and as it's a repossession we need to complete in 4 weeks, we knew there were a few little damp issues within the property, we went to view the house in the rain we had yesterday, we have only seen it on really sunny days to find it raining on the inside.(major damp issues!)
It was only within the one room which is a flat roof, we really love the house but have now no spare money to fix the roof replaster new floor etc, we have a some money saved but not enough to cover the unexpected work which needs to be done before our children can be moved in, does anyone know if we can go back to the repossession company and renegotiate and any hints on the best way to go round this the structual survey is being done this week and know it's best to wait till then but wanted to get a start on working out what we can do.
Thank you

You could try reducing your offer. You risk it being rejected and the property remarketed. But then a repo is often subject to a higher offer coming along.

The survey is going to state that the roof needs redoing. If you can't afford to buy the property and reroof, then its a non-starter.

Thanks have contacted the EA to see if the vendor is willing to negotiate before we pay out for the survey, if they are not willing then it's not worth throwing more money away, we have allocated funds for work that was already needed on the property and this wasn't anticipated, a waterfall in the bedroom does make a nice feature though..... fingers crossed you never know.
