Please help! I am confused over Paypal refund

Ok, heres the deal - I have been refunded £11.94 (full amount) by a seller. There is only £3.07 in my account and an entry that says 'Temporary Hold' for £8.87.
When I paid for the item I only had £3.07 left in my paypal account so the rest was paid for by direct bank transfer and I'm guessing that this has something to do with it. Can someone explain about the 'temporary hold' please? I don't know why it's there or if its going to cause problems, I haven't seen this before.

What the temporary hold is is - found it on the help pages of paypal - explains it better than me!
What is a temporary hold by PayPal?
If you authorise a payment to a merchant and hold a balance in your account at the time the payment is made, the balance funds used for your purchase are placed on hold by PayPal until the merchant processes your payment. If the merchant cancels your payment or allows your authorisation to expire, the temporary hold is removed.Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
