Wednesday 8th July - What small DFW things have you done today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:D

Morning everyone:j
Well here we are nearly halfway through the week....end of term is nearly here;)
Just checked my banking and the new current account I wanted is open....ready for me to put girls money in - I thought it would be easier to have somewhere to put money I owe them rather than it getting swallowed up in my accounts:D I sell bits on ebay for them so this much easier way of keeping the money for them. SO have just moved money into the lovely new account - I love moving money all around:rotfl:

Anyway, must crack on before girls get up. Here's my list:
  • check banking - done.....:p
  • daily scratch
  • packed lunches to work for 2 of us. DD1 allowed dinners once a week (not 5 days!) so she's chosen today for her £2!
  • NSD maybe!
  • check ebay listings
  • dinner from mealplan - gammon, egg and chips:D
  • Sparkle - I have my performance management at work, so I must....
Awwww.smilie site isn't playing this morning.....:rotfl:

Have a lovely day everyone!
I really need to sort out a new signature!

    Morning

Milly– thanks for starting the thread, I was about to start the thread then noticed you had beaten me to it

Hello to everyone else who posts toda
    y

    Today I have/will:
    • Meals from home
    • Checked online banking
    • Go to work and work really hard
    • Checked on things growing in the garden
    • Try to have a NSD – I MUST do this as I seem to be frittering money away
    • Read yesterday’s forum
    • Try to eat more fruit
    • Emailed agencies new updated CV (see below)
    • Chill and have an early night
    • Washing on 30 – quickwash
    • Move spare change to my sealed pot
    • Catch up with friends on FB and email rather than texting
    • Need to look into a savings account to have a virtual sealed pot that I can not easily access - didn’t get a chance to do this yesterday
    • Go to library to return dvd, check local paper for jobs and get out a new book
    • When I get home from work, look on the internet for a new job

One small thing from me…….I called up yesterday to arrange collection of my certificate, and happened to ask whet result I got. I got a 1st Class Pass, yes it is true, I am a qualified book-keeper……that is another thing off my 101 list!

Think that is about it…..hope everyone is well

I really didnt think we were going to get a holiday this year but the way this year has gone we need to get away just the two of us! I know its not really very DFW but got a really good deal on it and got 6 months 0% to pay it off. So far got £300 spending money with 4 weeks to go so should hopefully have enough spending money and some left over to pay off the hol by the time we go!!
Plus thanks to family we've got our debts sorted and will be totally debt free within 7 years and our payments each month have been dramatically reduced so should be able to pay it off even quicker. Cant believe how much of a weight it is off my shoulders to know we are getting sorted out and hopefully the past 8 months are finally behind us and the future looks a bit better

    Toria xx

    Morning all!

Happy hols to all those that have booked /going soon!
We're off to Cornwall for a week on Saturday and can't wait to get away from work!

Anyway, today is a busy one in work - meetings all day....

    Breakfast at home
    Lunch brought to work
Tea from freezer to use things up ready to defrost it
Walk dog for free exercise - one long one done already today, 2 to go
    Do lots of boring work
If have time, sort through one drawer of filing cabinet at work
    File loads of stuff away
Do a wash with things ready for holiday
    Dry on airer/outside
    Stay in and watch soaps
Check banks - CC has been paid
Remind OH to pay council tax (his turn this month)
    Check for surveys

    That's all for today!
