Another way is to roll a ball of blu tac back and forward over the blu tac you are trying to remove.
I do this to get the stuff of walls etc and it works great.
It appears to like to stick to itself as much as anything else.0 -
Is your freezer big enough to get the carpet in ;D ;D ;D ?The Pegster

Thanks for your help. Initially, I tried putting the carpet in the freezer, but I couldn't get the door closed. So, I put an ice pack on it and got most of it up. The remainder, came up with careful picking and some more bluetack.0

Its been a long time since anyone posted a reply, but google takes you here first if you have bluetack on carpets trouble.
I have the answer! And it couldn't be easier.
Just trickle some vegetable oil onto the bluetack and then scrape like mad with the edge of something hard until it magically vanishes. And it does! It takes seconds usually.
My carpets are dark, but if yours are light you may be left with a grease mark? But this may be washed out with carpet shampoo I think.
Anyway, the answer! And I worked it out myself :cool:0 -
I found that steam for a steam cleaner loosened it0

Try a drop of pharmaceutical grade olive oil (from the chemists) applied with accuracy using an ear-bud. Work as quick as poss. and soak up any residue by pressing with kitchen roll.0

I used Dylon stain remover - the one for greasy stains (it has the a picture of lips on the label). It worked great and removed the bluetac realy quickly. You have to make sure you don't soak the area with the stainer removed because it can be difficult to get out. You won't want to replace one stain with another!0

I used 'sticky stuff remover' when my children stuck some in my carpet-Keep your eyes to the sunshine and you would not see the shadows-
