Clever ways to earn cashback? Or not so clever?

in Credit cards
I just got my Amex Card and want to buy a computer on it? If I then decided I didnt want the computer and got a refund (which can be done at costco). Would I still get a cash back? Even if it was on the amex card?
Also if I put money into an online gambling site, then paid it back on without gambling, would I still get the cashback?
Also I invest in stocks and shares, often in 5k chunks, online with cards, guess it makes sense to use the amex doesnt it?

You cannot earn cashback if your purchase is refunded."Click the pennies. Collect the pounds."0

Gambling websites count as a cash withdrawl so no cashback and lots of interest.0

Stupid idea to invest in equities with money you don't have.
I'm starting to think your post is a wind up.
If it's genuine then you need to research equities a lot more before investing.0 -
I have to say your all horrible! Im a in experienced user to this forum and the signature was a genuine mistake!
I wasnt suggesting in investing money I didnt have, simply to use the cash back card to pay for it, then pay off the card, hence trying to claim the cash back. But as ive now learnt it would count as a cash advance, so thankyou.
Im self employed with a ltd company, and I thought that I could now buy anything for my company on the cash back card then claim the cash on expenses, this would work!
Another tip, a bit unrelated perhaps. I was chatting to the lady in tescos and she revelaed that some of the ladies give extra points for reusing bags. Its at their discretion really, if you find the right one and chat them up, she said she gave out 20 club card points often for just re using a couple of bags.0 -
they are all meant to give points if you take your own bagsTHANK MEEE:j0
