Just before christmas I had a bad experience with paypal, I lost nearly £200 after sending goods to a customer on ebay. Items were sent via parcelforce, however a few days after receiving the goods the buyer started a dispute. In the end paypal sided with the buyer, even though I had proof of delivery (inputted everything in the dispute)! I then receive an email from the buyer saying 'Thanks for the freebies'.
Anyway my solictor sorted things out and in return paypal suspended my account, so I can no longer sell on ebay.
I am trying to clear out the house as we are going through the process of becoming foster parents. Im looking for an ebay alternative, I sold 1 item on ebid but that went sour, even though paypoo is not on my listing the buyer went and sent me a paypal payment to my email address (the one suspended).
I dont care if I get 1 sale a month etc, I have been with ebid and CQout for 3-4 months and sold nothing. I sell my unwanted dvds/cds/books on amazon, play and green metropolis, they are going well. However I have other things like clothes that we've never worn, my sons old toys (you can only put new ones on amazon), shoes Ive never worn and equestrian things I had from when I had my horses.
I would be very very grateful if yous could give me some suggestions. Sorry my post is so long.

Could your other half open an account and 'sell for you'?No, Mr A, that is NOT 'Great news'!!

Wombling totals: Oct = £243.32 - £93.32 over target!
Nov Wombling Tally: £27.36 so far... behind target

Had you considered a car boot or table top sale? Or giving the unwanted items to charity (for the feel-good factor).0

I think you have virtually exhausted the market for online sites.
Tazbar closed in June, ibootsale appears to have disappeared (if it is just a glitch though they might be worth a try). I think SteveW has the best alternative. eBay, as petty as it appears is the only option.
I too have used CQout over the years and haven't sold anything, it's pretty useless and whilst my auction has hudreds of viewings, not one sale.
In this case just cut the loss and use the new account. Sadly eBay is the only option at the moment.0 -
I sold an item on ebay 6 months ago. The item was under a year old still in warranty and had just had a brand new hard drive. All this was mentioned in the auction.
I sold it to a guy, who then told me when he recived it it didnt work! I checked it when it left me.
He put a dispute in with Paypal (by this point I had spent the money as my car needed fixing hence selling the item!).
Paypal said providing he returned the item they would refund him so he did! What he returned was a box of bricks ~ but he had the tracking number didnt he.
Paypal refunded him and I was now over £300 out of pocket. No probs I thought, i will just sell other things to pay back the negative balance which I was doing. I was selling items on ebay and although paypal had blocked my account it still allowed winning bidders to pay me and the balance started going down! Then it was at -£200 and still in dispute trying to get paypal to listen to what happened, they closed that paypal account and my ebay account down which had over 366 positiive feedback and not one negative!
I tried all I could to reason with them and they are not interested, they told me to go to the police which I did and they were not bothered because its an internet issue.
So I tried to re-open new accounts all of which keep getting shut down dispite using different IP addresses (moved house) new home address, different bank details and mine and my partners name!
Thought I got away with it again the other day but they again clocked on and shut it down asking me for passports etc.
So no paypal which means I also can't use ebay, I run a small business and thats how people keep asking me to pay them or they pay me. Its embarrasing. Ebay is a way of getting the things I sell out there too, but they will not allow you to use any other payment portal such as nochex or google which imho are far more secure!
Ebay need to allow the use of other companies and stop trying to play god with us business owners. I want even allowed to claim for damages from royal mail or anything and its a lesson learnt the hard way!
Sorry for the essay but if anyone can beat the hell out of paypal its the wider community! They say they try to prevent fraud but the site is full of it. I have had so many spoof e-mails its untrue!

Not true, me and my brother both have an ebay account and we use the same pc, same address, the only difference we have is the email address and name which would be the same in this situation. Hope this helpsmortui non mordent0 -
That's not a problem when neither of you are banned, but if one of you gets banned then the other ones account would be in trouble. You can have pretty much as many ebay accounts as you like, as long as they are all ones that aren't blocked.montyrebel wrote: »Not true, me and my brother both have an ebay account and we use the same pc, same address, the only difference we have is the email address and name which would be the same in this situation. Hope this helpsThis is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

I registered yesterday with http://www.ibootsale.co.uk/main/index.php and have filled my pitch today. Whilst i was filling it i sold 2 lots :j So i am very happy
. I have found this much better than ebay.
Have any of you tried putting the link to it in you homepage part on here? You know when you click a name on here it says visit homepage. This may be a good way to get it advertised as you're not allowed to post a direct link in the threads! HTH someone
