Toluna: Avoid

Just in case anyone is in any doubt at all about whether to join or persevere with Toluna, I would highly recommend you do not bother.
Since joining I have done maybe 30 surveys, and never had a single point added for any of them. Support emails go un answered. But the icing on the cake would be when I mysteriously had over 3000 points deducted from my total without warning. This means that all the mini-polls i had done are now a waste of time.
I frequently answer surveys honestly, even though you can tell by the way the survey is worded that you are going to be booted out of the survey. I can't think of a single reason why they would deduct points, and of course they won't tell me.
Martin is right - AVOID!

it can take up to 6 weeks to get points0

So after 4 months I should probably give up hope then...0

i would agree, my experience has not been good either. I joined a couple of weeks ago. Since then i have done about 10 surveys only to be told after a good ten minutes or so i dont qualify/quota has been reached. I have now unsubscribed although it does say it can take weeks before you stop getting mailings! Great!
I would reccommend Lightspeed the most.0 -
I wouldn't dissuade people from joining Toluna altogether. It is a community site and not all about getting points. I know quite a few people have been unlucky with not having them credited for surveys etc, but make a note of the survey IDs they do complete and chase them up. The vouchers do take ages to arrive, but they do get there eventually.
It's not like it's a scam site that should be avoided entirely.. I think it's just one of the many sites that won't give you something for nothing !This thing we call failure is not falling down but staying down :beer:0 -
you need to keep the survey invites and forward them on to them, u will get the points just nag em0

I find it so strange that so many people have negative experiences. I've never had any trouble with them, and am about to receive my 4th £10 amazon voucher from them. My account is updated quickly with my points, and, though the rewards themselves take a stupid amount of time to come through, they always arrive within the suggested timeframe. I've never had any points go astray, whether by not being added or being taken away, and whilst they're certainly not as good as Lightspeed or OnePoll, I've had much more success with them than Valued Opinions who have always been a bit naff for me (guess I don't fit into their demographic...)
Lady Fluff = happy Toluna person (though I think I'm definitely a rarity in these parts!)Surveys nerd :wave:0 -
just to note ive been a member since august 2007 and in that time ive received around £110 of amazon vouchers....0

I have just put in for my 5th £10 amazon voucher with Toluna, but they do take forever for the rewards to be sent. My main problem at the minute is when I do the sponsered surveys for 15 points they weill only reigster a couple of surveys and then I have to log off and on again to carry on which is a bit of a pain in the !!!.0

Have been a member for years but I'm not doing surveys with them anymore. Not worth it especially when points disappear mysteriously from your account. And the support takes forever to respond and can be quite rude. The points expire quickly as well.0
