How to de-register?

Hi,
Does anyone know how I can cancel my ebay account (de-register?)?

I have an ebay account that I do not use and haven't accessed (until today) for quite a few months, certainly the last time was way before Christmas - I can't remember exactly. I get alot of junk scam emails to the email address I used fro this ebay account, from both 'ebay' and 'paypal'. I'd really really really like them to stop and would feel so much happier if my ebay account was de-registered instead of not being used.

Oh, I still also get official ebay emails to my email address which include my ebay user name. And I was able to log on to my account today.

Aghh. Any suggestions?

I think you need to email them to do this but I could be wrong,
