Hi looking for a bit of info/advice my car was vandalsed with paint stripper over every panel bar the roof it has now gone off the repair shop when they came to collect they shook their heads and said it may be a write off as it will need a full body spray it is a 52 plate C5 estate i know its not worth much but my dad s legacy paid for the car and also as a family of 5 it is worth a lot to me what is the likelihood of a write off if they say it is can i fight it? many thanks

They will probably write it off due to the costs and that they normally use new manufacturer panels when repairing paint stripper.
They will probably offer you an amount and offer you the chance to keep the salvage of the car subject to a deduction in what you receive. You can then often get a local body shop to repair it for a very cheap price as they can either reuse the damaged panels or use pattern parts.
Have a word with a local garage and explain its a cash job that you will be paying not the Insurers. You can then work out whether its worth you keeping teh salvage and getting it repaired0
