bt took my money

I joined BT in march and had to pay the £122 for a line to be installed. They said i could pay this over 6 months, so therefore i would pay £37 for the first 6 months then it would drop to £12 or whatever it is for the rest of the 12 month contract.
In june we had to rent our house out and move out cos we couldnt afford the mortgage anymore. My H2B rang BT to cancel the line, they said that was fine and sent us a letter to confirm, also stated the bill would be £7 for the rest of the contract and the rest of the line rental money also (which would be right) i realised we couldnt afford the £170 odd quid straight away and read the letter that said we had a 14 day coolin off period if we decided not to cancel
so H2B rings back 7 days after he cancelled and they said by an accident the line had already been cancelled, and agreed that we should have still had 7 days left, they said they would set a new line up and transfer the remaining money across and would just charge us the £37 for the next 3 months and then it would go back to £12 a month for the rest of the contract.
I was happy with that and left it, until i recieved a letter saying we hadnt paid the final bill, and on the same day another letter saying we owe £40 odd quid for the new line for the next 3 months.
I have rang back up and the guy said 'Oh yea we just took the £170 odd quid from you account at the beginning of july and that account is now closed so we cant do anything and cant refund that money!'
now i dont have enough to pay for the rest of my bills this month, he agreed to put £70 credit onto the new line (which is the cancellation money) but this isnt really helping because i still am £170 down in my account (i wasnt told this would come out of my account, and was just told my monthly dd would stay the same)
what can i do? please help, because i now have a new 12 month contract for a house i dont live in and have now paid the remaining contract off even thought i didnt no about it

Hi,
This sounds pretty complicated, if you want PM me your BT account details (both new and old) and I'll take a look at this to see what I can do to sort this out.
Thanks,
Stephanie
