http 500 internal server error

Apologies if this has already been posted but I did a search and could not find anything.

I am having problems viewing the threads in the competitions section of the forum. Every time I click on a thread it comes up saying http 500 internal server error and i am unable to view anything. All other threads in other sections of the forum are fine just the competitions section.

Is this a problem with my computer or is it the forum itself?

Comments

  • It indicates a server side problem but clicking around the competitions forums with our test users I see no such issues. Is this problem persisting? Can you give me links to any particular threads which you right now cannot view?

    Thanks for your reply.

I cannot view any of the threads in the competition forum.

I've tried again with the following threads and still keep getting the same problem.

  • I've been having a similar problem since Friday with the bargain buys sassy shopping section of the forum, other sections I use are working fine though I don;t use the comps area so haven't checked that.

I too am having trouble viewing every single post under competitions! I've been having trouble viewing them since Monday.

I can't seem to access any threads under Competitions or Freebies. This is the message I get:

Error 500 - The website cannot display the page. Most likely cause:
    • The website is under maintenance.
    • The website has a programming error.
Thanks to all those who take the time :A and effort to post!!

I also cannot access the freebies (no spend required) board. I've tried both from home and work and it still doesn't work - been having this problem for over a week now. Can't be a problem with just one computer as I've been at other people's houses and tried too - no joy!

There's definitely a server problem here. I've found a large number of threads where the page apparently displays ok, but looking at the headers (using live http headers for firefox) shows that the server is actually returning a HTTP 500 status code instead of 200. I guess in this scenario, some browsers might not bother to display the returned html since the server is saying it's broken.

    See here for example:

Thanks for the links and the detailed error reports. That's helped point us in the right direction and we're on the case :).

Edit: The internal server 500 error is now resolved.
