Does anyone know of any credit cards that are pre pay only - please?

Options
Hi

Have searched the site and cannot find what I am looking for.

Does anyone know of any recommended credit cards that you pre pay onto and cannot use if you have insufficient funds, they are ones that do not have credit checks but I am aware that they sometimes charge a small fee.

We are in an IVA and only have a cardcash card which is proving to be difficult sometimes.

Thanks in advance.

  • I have taken out a Cashplus card, which costs £4.95 at the moment as a set up charge.

They have two charge options. One being for just under a fiver per month and the other being for 99p per transaction.

It seems to be a bog standard card accepted as per creditcards and I have topped up at the Post Office easily enough.

Once your IVA is out of the way you can then apply for the creditbuilder option which is in effect a loan for the whole years worth of monthly payments so you till pay the same monthly payment but also have a loan paid off showing against your Credit reports.

I found this one by looking around the site via the Protect your Pocket option at the top and then scrolling down to the section regarding credit scoring etc.

    Hope this helps you.

I think payplan have something that works like that. 'Just a bank' JB card. There's some info on the payplan website. I was having a nightmare with my cash only account at Lloyds. Mostly do internet banking but could only get cash out of the Lloyds machines which was a real pain as the local branch has no parking and there isn't a Lloyds at the supermarket so I set up a savings account, also with Lloyds which was not subject to any credit checks (they know my situation). The savings card can be used to withdraw cash at any machine. I transfer funds on line from cash account to saving account and then use any cash point to withdraw. Is working much better for me! Just thought it might be helpful ;)
