In my Hotmail this morning I rec'd from MSN a suggestion I upgrade to;
"Windows Live Mail Beta: fast, simple, and more secure"
advising that my current Hotmail account will be transferred, if I sign up etc.
MSN state:- Our latest round of enhancements includes a new “first run experience” that allows you to customize your experience to look and work just the way you want. There’s no catch—your current MSN Hotmail inbox, address book and calendar all come with you when you try the Windows Live Mail Beta!
Is this MSN offering any good or just another load of hassle?
All info appreciated - Happy

Its not bad, quite an improvement over hotmail.
If you don't like it, there is an option in the settings to pot out of the beta trial which I assume will just revert you to the normal hotmail interface.0 -
I've transferred one of my Hotmail accounts over for their "trial". It's taken me a little bit of time to get used to it, but it's not too bad. I suppose, to navigate around, it's a bit like my MS Outlook when I used to work in an office.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0

I've been using this for a couple of weeks and found it a lot better than the normal hotmail - that is, until te last couple of days when I have had problems with the page display - I just get 2 adverts and no way to access my messages. Worked perfectly for the first 12 days and I can still get it on a PC at work, but as I am at home for the next 2 weeks I decided to opt out of the trial and go back to the original set-up. I got to keep the enlarged in-box size of 250mb though which is good. When they launch it proper I will definitely go back. Suppose a beta will show up bugs - thats what its for so no complaints really. Give it a go you can always opt out later0

i dont like it, feels too alien from the normal hotmail after a few days of trying it. Not being able to delete a large amount of emails was also annoying0

Try holding down Ctrl and select the messages you want to delete and then click the delete button.0 -
It’s not too bad. It does feel a bit naked, compared to Hotmail. The Hotmail website has been through many revisions, and has acquired quite a slick look-and-feel. With Live Mail, you get a choice of the new layout with whizzy drag-and-drop and right-click menus, called the “Windows Live Mail Experience”, or a “Classic Hotmail View”, which looks similar and works similarly to the Hotmail you're used to. The new layout makes your computer do a lot more work. So, if you have an old slow computer, you may find it a bit sluggish at times. But, you’ve always got the option of the classic layout.hugh_jarse wrote:I got to keep the enlarged in-box size of 250mb though which is good.古池や蛙飛込む水の音0

That’s a bit mean. I had only a free Hotmail account, but already had a quota of 250MB. The invite to Live Mail said it would increase to 2GB. This agrees with what the live.com website says you should get. I’ve now got far more email than 250MB, but I can’t tell how much from the Live Mail website. That seems to be the one thing I can’t find. I can’t find any indication of account quota and usage on Live Mail.
I dont know if it does tell you, if you undo the beta i think it asks do you miss not seeing your usage details..:S0
